Immerse yourself in the realm of Benjamin Patterson and musical textures to witness the creation of a vibrant soundscape through the combination of various actions, and everyday items. Participants will have the chance to observe documentation of Patterson's action-score "Pond" (1962), while subsequently collaborating on crafting a large-scale visual composition that showcases how communal engagement can generate enjoyable and unconventional sounds. This workshop will delve into Patterson's use of toys to establish rhythms using a simple three-part structure. The esteemed Malcolm Goldstein will unify the elements by interpreting the pulse, tempo, and rhythm of this collaborative community project by presenting a distinctive and intimate live improvisation.
The workshop is ideally suited for participants aged 7 thru 10, but individuals of all ages
are encouraged to attend.
