Daniela Solís and Stefan Christoff first shared a coffee in Mexico City early in 2024. Overtime and across conversations that took place at underground cultural venues in Mexico’s capital ideas on creating a collaborative recording emerged. Santiago Mijares first recorded duets in February, 2024, you can hear a cautious and hopeful emotion that is present, in these recordings the listening is as important as the playing.
In the summer of 2024 Daniela and Stefan played in duet twice in Mexico City, live at Radio Nopal, an awesome cultural beacon in the city and also at Casa Rafael Galván. For both concerts the rooms were full of artists and activists and it inspired an interest to continue to explore and collaborate. This album Always listening is their first release and it will be launched at Suoni per il Popolo in Montreal in June 2025.
