Join us for an afternoon of singing, learning, and sharing. Legendary jazz vocal innovator Jay Clayton will lead attendees through a participatory workshop where they will learn to sharpen their musical instincts and develop their unique voice. Prospective topics include: improvising over chord changes, developing solo vocabulary, a practice approach to scatting, musical cues in a group setting, talking down a tune, and more! Jay’s masterclasses are an invigorating, safe space to explore your vocal curiosities. The structure of the workshop and its content are built around the personalities who attend. There will be opportunities to sing as a group as well as opportunities for individual performances. This workshop is free and open to everyone. Up to 20 participants can join the class, and it is not required to register.
