This year’s presentation by the beloved Avant-ensemble pulls together a few contemporary threads: NO HAY BANDA performing two works by the Columbian composer Rodolfo Acosta: música suave (2020), for violin & piano, and DanceMachine (2014), for a 10-piece band, under the direction of Acosta himself. Gayle Young and Sarah Albu perform works from their upcoming album According to the Moon, which features Gayle's collected vocal works spanning from 1979 to 2021. Musicians from NHB, Freesound, and other special guests join the lineup this evening. Sarah and Gayle’s garments for the event are by textile artist Bruno Vinhas.
