Many will know Freelove, mainstays of the Montreal hyper precise, folded shirt rock scene, or Abstract pop as emphasized by Jay Hinman and surely their newest opus on Moone Records out of Arizona deserves the live treatment 2 odd years later. Tha Retail simps boast a 35 year age gap within their ranks, making theirs a racket for the ages, far from the garage rock your grandpapa so adored, this is ramshackle ineptitude tightrope walking that borders on the avant garde and the unlistenable, but all done in the spirit of celebration. Astute Palate stormed the word docs. of fringe music journos globally with their debut self-titled LP. They managed to sell out both a North American and Australian pressing before the vinyl was fully cooled and off the presses. A grab bag of free rock moves oscillating between cool and collected and stretched and spaced. Here they are bouncing up across the border for their first international appearance and second show of all time. All 3 bands coming at this show raw, with Stalwarts Freelove coming off a 3 year live hiatus and lineup shift (and insisting on playing first!). This should be one for the ages. Expect perfection but stick around for a floppy good time!
