Takako Minekawa
Born in 1969. At the age of 6, Takako Minekawa appeared in the movie "Ballad of Orin" (directed by Masahiro Shinoda,1977) as Shima Iwashita in her younger years, which was the beginning of her various careers. From around 1990, she became interested in music. She released eight albums in Japan and the US, including "Roomic Cube - a tiny room exhibition" (1996), "Cloudy Cloud Calculator" (1997), "Fun 9" (1998), and "Maxi On" (2000), in collaboration with musicians such as Buffalo Daughter, Seiichi Yamamoto, Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius), and Dymaxion. In 2013, she released "Toropical Circle" with American Experimental musician Dustin Wong on Thrill Jockey. As a duo, they released three albums, "Savege Imagination" (2014) and "Are Euphoria" (2017), and after spending about two years in the experimental music and arts community in Los Angeles from 2018, she returned to Japan at the end of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent years, they have been performing improvisations with legendary/emerging Japanese musicians such as Keiji Haino and Fumi Endo. Since 2023, she has also been active as a performance group 'Ato no Mae (Before a trace)' with Takahiro Kawaguchi. They present sound images that are like fragments of stories as landscapes that are neither music nor theater.
Her performance will be joined by live painting done by Ippei Matsui, as a bandmate.
