Rough Spells
As settlers, immigrants, Jews, and queers, we recognize that Canadians need to engage in meaningful acts of reconciliation and decolonization. We need to make amends for past and current wrongs in all areas of the country. We support the calls to justice outlined the National Inquiry into the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people. Described as Heart meets Black Sabbath, Rough Spells are a four-piece witch ‘n roll band from Tkaronto. They are part of a queer female-fronted doom music movement. Their self-released EP Modern Kicks for the Solitary Witch debuted at #10 on the Doom Charts in August of 2018 and was released on cassette by Hoove Child records in Chicago. They released their 7" Syster on Fuzzed and Buzzed records and their full-length Ruins at Midday was released by Fuzzed and Buzzed Dark Hedonistic Union records in the Netherlands in 2020.
