Melissa Pipe
Melissa Pipe is a baritone saxophonist, bassoonist, composer and arranger who lives in Montreal. As well as leading her quintet and sextet, she performs regularly with jazz, hip-hop, indie, and classical ensembles as a freelancer. She has written as a versatile player and writer for small groups and large ensembles. She pursued studies in saxophone (baritone) and jazz composition; a specialist in low woodwinds, she continued her studies independently in classical and jazz bassoon. The Melissa Pipe Sextet’s album “Of What Remains” will be released on ODD SOUND in April 2023, featuring her writing for a small group.
