EarthBall
EarthBall is a wild Canadian ensemble rooted in Vancouver Island. Born out of necessity when Isabel Ford, John Brennan, and Jeremy Van Wyck needed a name for a gig, the project evolved into a freeform, psychedelic force. Now featuring Kellen Maclaughlin (guitar) and Liam Murphy (saxophone), members have played in bands like Shearing Pinx, Kamikaze Nurse, and Psychedelic Dirt.
From Fruiting Bodies (2021) to It’s Yours (2024, Upset The Rhythm), praised by The Quietus and The Wire, EarthBall has pushed sonic boundaries. Their 2024 UK tour with Chris Corsano, including a Café OTO residency, cemented their reputation for ecstatic performances.
Their latest release, Actual Earth Music - Volume 1 & 2 (March 7, 2025), captures their raw energy live. Side A features their set supporting Wolf Eyes at The Fox Cabaret (2023), while Side B showcases a Café OTO collaboration with UK improv legend Steve Beresford and Corsano.
EarthBall’s performances transcend concerts—they’re volatile, ephemeral, and unforgettable sonic events.
