Chivengi
Chivengi is a queer Haitian singer/songwriter, producer and multidisciplinary artist based in Montréal. Blending experimental soundscapes and introspective R&B melodies, their aim is to bring audiences to a place of self-examination. Since the release of her debut EP Mitsubishi (2019), Chivengi has went on to perform for the likes of the Canadian Centre for Architecture, POP Montréal Festival and CBC.
Chivengi is also a member of the Montréal Ballroom Kiki scene. She has been in the scene since 2017 and has went on to walk and compete at various balls locally, in Toronto and in New York. In the last two years, Chivengi has went on to teach vogue class within the Club Sagacité initiative run by Moonshine, as well as founding Black Gxrl Sesh, a black and queer exclusive ballroom session project.
