Jerusalem born, Montreal based Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is an international performer, an explorer of sound and a seeker of musical adventures. She creates in sophisticated simplicity blending jazz, middle-eastern & Jewish music with contemporary composition and conceptual improvisation. Her unique approach has led her to exciting collaborations including: composer John Zorn, string quartet ETHEL, dream master and Deep Listener IONE and Palestinian poet Naomi Shihab Nye.
Pyeng Threadgill is an American vocalist, songwriter, writer, video artist as well as a voice and movement teacher. As a vocalist/performer she creates what she calls New Porch Music, a form based on the traditions of Black American Folk, Soul, Jazz and improvisational music. She uses these traditions to create connected conversations whereby audiences may reflect on their own life stories and identities for healing and empowerment.
âpihtawikosisâniskwêw (Métis/ mixed-settler) multidisciplinary artist Moe Clark is a 2Spirit singing thunderbird. She works across disciplines of vocal improvisation, sound design, land-based oskapêwis (ceremonial Elder support), and performance creation, to create work that centres embodied knowledge, 2Spirit Indigenous resurgence, and creative kinship.
As a composer, Moe’s music and voice have appeared in documentaries, films, theatre and dance performances alike. Her last solo album Within toured across North America and her collaborative video poem nitahkôtân won best Indigenous language music video at the ImagiNative film festival.
Moe facilitates workshops with Indigenous youth and community in various environments, supporting in the development, creation and implementation of holistic land-based and creative programs to support collective healing and creative expression. She has performed the world over, including the Lincoln Centre (US), UBUD Writers & Readers Festival (ID) and Origins Festival in London (UK).
