Anoush MoazzeniExperimental — New Music
Persian born concert pianist, improvisor, interdisciplinary composer, artist-researcher and educator, Anoush Moazzeni enjoys a performing career that has, frequently, taken her around the world. After finishing her undergraduate studies in both piano performance and musicology, Ms. Moazzeni specialized her master’s degree in contemporary piano performance and she is currently undertaking her individualized doctoral studies in research-creation / Creative Music Practice at Concordia University in Montreal.
Versatile recital programs encompass the contemporary and standard repertoires, as well as less familiar fare. She currently focuses her piano performance practice on the mixed music repertoire for Piano and Electronics, Augmented Piano, Prepared Piano and Disklavier & interactive audiovisual computer system as the development of her art consists of the interaction between artistic interpretation and scholarly reflection. Particular areas of her interest in research-creation include artistic research and philosophy on stage, epistemology, post-humanism, feminist and queer studies, decolonial theories, critical race theories, new strategies for interdisciplinary performance design, mixed music composition and performance, extended techniques and unconventional instrumental performance practice, interactive musical technologies, interface design and robotics, artificial intelligence and human and machine relationship.
