NOIZU_IHAN
Consisting of two Japanese words 'NOIZU' (noise) and 'IHAN' (transgression), NOIZU_IHAN could be translated as noisy transgression or transgressing noise.
Three members of TEKE::TEKE form an outgrowth of disturbing noise. We are a band that is mainly inspired by Japanese noise but also by free jazz, punk and electroacoustic music. We break all boundaries, including those of our materiality. NOIZU_IHAN seeks to reappropriate the codes of noise music. The aim of this project is to marry our different ways of making noise.
Ian Lettre (TEKE::TEKE) //drums, daxophone, keyboards, machines and voice. Étienne Lebel (TEKE::TEKE, Kutsi Merki, Eyevin Nonet) // trombone-effects, saxophone-effects, modified brass, gaida and vocals.Hidetaka Yoneyama (TEKE::TEKE) // electric guitar, electronic effects, synthesizers, vocals, pliers and motors
Our approach: "Spirit of contradiction":
1) Looking for everything that would not be "NOIZU IHAN".
2) To do the opposite.
3) To go even further by leaving room for instinct.
4) Give substance to the noise.
