Listen to a series of interviews recorded during the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival 2015 in Montréal.
Screening of Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai at Centre Phi on July 2, 2015 at 20h. Screening will be followed by a conversation with Mdou Moctar, Tuareg blues legend and star of the film. Do not miss!
Dead Moon’s songs are full of in-between places: twilight zones, graveyards, unknown passages, and mystery zones. Their music occupies a borderland between the past and the present. With hooks from sixties rock n’ roll tied to the sonic rawness of punk rock their songs alternate between fist-pumping bangers and heartbreaking ballads. Dead Moon inhabit a place entirely their own, off in a wilderness where few bands have managed […]
For a festival that surveys the constantly mutating outer limits of music, it’s reassuring to see how much has stayed the same for Suoni Per Il Popolo as it reaches the halfway mark of its second decade.
The focus remains on the exploratory and improvisational, with artists stretching the elastic properties of rock, jazz and classical.
